About this initiative
Bolivia is one of the poorest countries in South America. According to estimates, 45% of the population is below the poverty line, of which 20% live in extreme poverty.
In the field they are 60% and 40% respectively. Our projects, which we started in 2011 in the Department of Santa Cruz (in Chiquitanía), focus on the increased needs of families and communities. Access to water is still one of the problems most mentioned by the population where we work. In many communities, at the time dry, water is scarce. In addition, all the year you have to transport bucket by bucket from the wells. This is a major problem for the health of children and adults. If this were not enough, there is a shortage of water for animals and agriculture. This has a very negative impact on obtaining food, since water is also the basis for its production…
